Maxing out Nashville takes a look at dog friendly restaurants or venues and picks one to review each week. As our first review in this series, we felt obligated to start with Neighbors in Sylvan Park. They have always been one of the most welcoming restaurants whenever we bring our dog, Max.
Neighbors is located on Murphy road, directly across the street from McCabe Pub. They offer an excellent patio out front and another covered patio in the back. Usually, the servers will bring Max a bowl of water without even being asked. Sylvan Park is known for its close knit community feel, which is always on display whenever we visit Neighbors. It definitely has a sort of “Cheers” feeling, where it seems like everyone knows everyone.
My go-to meal here is usually the pulled pork tacos topped with homemade BBQ sauce and cilantro. They just might be the best I’ve had so far in Nashville. The tacos are also accompanied with one side. Just be careful with the avocado spread that comes on the side. It’s spicy! The service here is always great and this time was no exception, as our server was very attentive and friendly. For anyone looking for live music, there was also a band setting up as we were leaving.
Neighbors in Sylvan Park is definitely a must try whether you are looking to grab a quick lunch or you are looking for a patio to unwind on after a long work week.
