This week for Maxing Out Nashville, we made our way over to the Vanderbilt/Hillsboro Village. We decided to try one of the restaurants that line Belcourt Ave directly across from the popular Belcourt Theatre. After coming to the conclusion that we wanted to stray from any healthy options this time, we decided upon Belcourt Taps. We had heard that their burgers we’re an excellent choice, so this sounded like the ideal place.
Just like all the other restaurants that line the street, Belcourt Taps has a great patio out front for dining. We knew we made a good choice, when we ordered our drinks and our waitress brought Max a bowl of water without being asked. In fact, she provided some the best service we’ve had in the city so far!
Known for a nice array of draft beer, we came to find out that they also specialize in stuffed burgers. After going back and forth on which burgers to try, we landed on the “Belcourt Black Eye” and “Hell’s Kitchen”. The “Belcourt Black Eye” is a blackened burger stuffed with bacon and blue cheese on a brioche bun and was as every bit as tasty as it sounds. The “Hell’s Kitchen,” as you might expect, was a little on the spicy side, but not overpowering. It was stuffed with Ghost pepper infused cheese, topped with cheddar cheese and honey braised jalapenos.
If you like a little bit of a kick to your food, then the “Hell’s Kitchen” is definitely worth the try. After comparing the two burgers, it was a very close call, but we both agreed it just edged out the “Belcourt Black Eye” in our unofficial taste test. After excellent service and a great meal, we left very happy with our choice. Throw in the fact that Belcourt Taps is dog friendly and we will definitely be adding them to our regular places to visit.
